place of scenic beauty that provides an opportunity for swimming in a
fresh water lake. Extreme high temperatures and lack of any shade will
tax your air conditioner in July, August, and September.

discount: Nope. It's a national monument.
- Rally park: I
think so, but not everybody would be so into hiking as we are. Maybe
as a nice stopover for a caravan!
- What's
special: Its natural beauty, its serenity, and the Anasazi ruins,
which are better preserved than the ones at Mesa Verde!

- Campground: Zane Grey RV Park
- Location: 54 miles south of Flagstaff, AZ on State Road 260
- What's special: All sites are nicely situated among giant
cottonwood trees. Full hook-ups. Quiet, clean, oasis in which to
escape the summer heat of Phoenix and points south. No amenities or
recreation on site. This is a place from which to explore the Tonto
National Forest.

AZ. Road down may lack adequate shoulder. Half hour delay at 21
kilometer check point to review your documents.
- What's special: New park, clean and spacious, beautiful pool,
Internet access, satellite TV and close to beach.

- What's special: Nice lake views from many sites (no hookups at
view sites). Central dump & water available. Possible boondocking at
N. edge of lake. Good digital cell service. Sites with hookups do not
have lake views. Best view is from site #32.

Rt. 14, or 16 miles northwest of Mountainair via NM highways 55 and

- Rally park: Probably not. But it's a great weekend getaway
nesteled among the Ponderosa pines.
- What's special: Nestled in the wooded foothills of the Manzano
Mountains, Manzano Mountains State Park is an excellent place for
fishing, bird watching, photography, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

- Location: Monument Valley, Utah
- What's special: Great place from which to visit Monument Valley.
Clean, secure, RV Park in a location of incomparable beauty surrounded
on all sides by red, sandstone bluffs. Indoor pool is small, but clean
and refreshing. Sites 12 through 45 are pull throughs with full
hook-ups, picnic tables, and small shade trees. Price (2005): $28.00 a
night for full hook-ups and 30 amp service. $30 for those who require
50 amp. 10% Good Sam discount pays the tax.
